064: tortoise

new glasses! Derek Cardigan 7004 Green Tortoiseshell

They were a free pair that I ordered online with a coupon code... unfortunately, I couldn't get black frames, so I settled for tortoise shell. I always say that I'm an all-black kinda gal & it's held true foreverrrrr. I will always gravitate towards solid black or monochromatic greys & shiz. In this particular case, I just settled & figured, I've done black, I've done black & grey & I've done clear glasses, so I might as well try something new.

I've declared that I haaaaate brown on myself, but I'm going to have to take that back now. I think I might actually love these! It's a refreshing throwback to the days when I had rayban wayfarers & people asked me if my glasses were a joke. After two pairs of clear glasses, I welcome the bold frames again :)

We're gonna have to do a glasses post for Sam soon, her collection is so diverse & surely outnumbers mine. Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

063: flower power

Clearly I have been dying for spring lately. My wardrobe is looking less & less layered & a bit less black too (whooOoOA!) I've been wearing more florals & feeling safer wearing heels out knowing that there's less snow & ice to slip on. I realize that the real warm weather is still two or three months away, but I'm optimistic :) I've never been happier seeing dead grass. lol.

Are you transitioning into your spring wardrobe? What have you been wearing in this weird weather?

062: missing the monster ball

Mama Monster is in Toronto right now and Syl & I are misssssing her!
Sad :( We're just going to stalk youtube for all those digital camera videos.

We loved the Thierry Mugler show yesterday. We were sitting so eagerly 5 minutes before 3pm EST and it didn't start until about 3:45ish. We watched it with smiles on our faces. Did you love it? Hate it?

060: a spot of tea

Sometimes when I start picking out an outfit, there's a piece that I already know I want to wear FOR SURE. I'll usually base all my other pieces around that one item, like that certain pair of new shoes or a cute new skirt. Now, it's very rare that I'll base my entire outfit around an accessory, but I just got something special. As I was saying on Saturday, my friend Candice gave Sam & I some cute gifts from her line of jewelry & I really wanted to show off what she gave me :)

vintage dress from my mom, floral cardigan from zara, straw fedora from spring, litas by jeffrey campbell, necklace from the candy shoppe

This miniature teacup necklace features the most adorable porcelain china cup & plate. The tiny classic floral design really had me thinking of english tea parties, so I wanted to dress feminine but modern & made sure to complete my look with a straw fedora :) & to maintain my edginess-- teased out hair, smoked out eyes & my litas.

What Candice gave us:

a teacup necklace for me, a teapot necklace with spoon for sam,
& two custom cupcake rings that actually smell like vanilla & chocolate!

Candice makes a lot of tea-time & coffee-time inspired jewelry, which is pretty much our jam. Sam & I are major coffee & tea addicts, so we don't just love to drink it, we love all the accessories that go along with it (we need a new loose leaf tea steeping device badly! lol). What's your caffeinated drink of choice? Coffee, tea, espresso, latte ?!

xoxo

ps, free mcdonalds coffee all day everyday this week! :)
pps, we have an awesome ~surprise~ for you tomorrow. be excited, ok?

For full disclosure - We are not affiliated with the Candy Shoppe and were not paid to write this review. The items were given to us as gifts & this post simply contains our opinion of the products :)
