So only my closest friends know that one of my deepest desires is to get 'style spotted'. Ever since I was young & began reading newspapers & magazines, I was intrigued by these people featured in "street style" features. I loved to read their stories and why they dressed the way they did-- and I loved that they were that one person on the street that day that caught the eye of some journalist.
My friends laugh & sometimes ask me if I just want my picture to be taken or something... but I don't think the appeal is in that. It's more the fact that you're so outstandingly dressed that someone actually wants to stop you from what you're doing to ask you WHY you wore what you did.
This Wednesday... I WAS SPOTTED.
On the way to the NKOTBSB concert, I was stopped by some camera dude who said they were filming a pilot for a style-spotting show for MTV. They filmed me standing there for like 2 minutes (while people walked by giving me "who dis bitch?" looks). I was super excited & I signed the release kinda quickly, so I hope it didn't say you're gonna be on a joke show where they make fun of your outfits & the fact that you're a 20-something attending a boyband concert.
My only regrets are:
- I was wearing Samantha's Backstreet Boys pyjama t-shirt in public.
- I was wearing flats cause we were walking from far-ish. At least they were my jeffrey campbells & not my crocs.
ahahhaha like c'mon dudes, really, you're gonna do style-spotting outside a homemade t-shirt fest? I try so hard to look nice at SO many other places.
I'll let you guys know if this pilot ever materializes. I promise I'll share it even if they're making fun of me. They're supposed to email me.
