Just before Christmas, I found a new love-- entering facebook & twitter contests! I read somewhere that twitter is basically the best place to win super-easy contests & I thought-- what the HELL. Why am I not entering everything? For most twitter contests, they just choose a random tweeter, which depends on your luck.... but for most facebook contests, pages like to make you "vote".
So in December, I entered Andy Hall's contest to win anyyything from her store. I had actually met her previously, at The Clothing Show (read my post about the show here) and we chatted for a bit about fashion & nail stamps. lol. Anyways, I got the most referrals of fans to her fanpage & ended up winning the greatest hooded cardigan ever.
I suspect we have the same fabric supplier in Toronto, because it's made with the best french fleece :). It features a huuuuuge cloak hood that always garners a ton of stares-- it's so bad ass... in a hogwarts sorta way. The coolest part is that it has a section of grey fabric along the back from the hood to hem that is so carefully pleated and tacked down. KUDOS to the soul who had the patience for that. This cardi even has side seam pockets & is otherwise slim-fitted. I adore it soo much & can't thank Natalie enough for having such an awesome giveaway! It came to me just a couple days before Christmas, so it was an amazing surprise gift! Please check out the awesome designs of Andy Hall. Thanks Natalie!!

my apologies for not doing this piece its full justice. I steamed it, but I didn't iron out all the wrinkles along the pleats. *lazyyyy*
Another contest we entered was the Treesje Facebook free handbag giveaway. I just had to put a photo of Sam up & get our friends to "like" it. She won on Christmas Day & her new purse came in today! I was told to just send our address (we didn't get to choose a particular bag) so we expected a small clutch or something cheaper... but today this MASSIVE box was on our doorstep.
Apparently it's called the Avalon Mini in Grey, but it's no longer on the website.
It's a gorgeous soft leather &... perhaps I'm wishing that I had entered for myself instead of so generously entering for Sam ... >_> <_< >_>. lol
So, I'm continuing on this free-stuff streak and trying to enter new giveaways all the time. For both of these though, we didn't rely on luck, we pestered our dear facebook friends to vote for us. Thank god we have such patient friends who don't un-friend us for the annoyingness. THANK YOU FRIENDS! ♥.
What do you think about contests? Do you not bother because you assume you don't have a chance... or do you enter everything you possibly can?
